The highest
courage is to dare to be yourself in the face of
adversity, choosing right over wrong, ethics over
convenience, and truth over popularity.
Travel the path of integrity without looking back, for
THERE IS NEVER A WRONG TIME TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

From the Servant General:
Our Theme for 2011 (Part 19) -
THE CROSSROAD: LIFE OR DEATH |
|
 |
U.A.E., March 10, 2011: Today we
continue facing the crossroad that is coming. As we saw in the reading
the other day, Moses again puts a choice before Israel. This is the
choice before us as well. What is this choice?..

Our Theme for 2011 (Part 18) -
NOW IS THE ACCEPTABLE TIME! |
|
 |
U.A.E., March 09, 2011:
Today is Ash Wednesday, and we start the season of Lent. It is a time of
repentance and restoration. It is a time to be brought back to God’s plan and
intent for our lives. It is a time to turn away from our sinful ways, including
our disobedience to God’s call to us, individually and as a community...

Our Theme for 2011 (Part 17) -
THE CROSSROAD: A BLESSING OR A CURSE? |
|
 |
U.A.E., March 06, 2011:
The Lord says: "I set before you here, this day, a blessing and a curse:
a blessing for obeying the commandments of the Lord, your God, which I
enjoin on you today; a curse if you do not obey the commandments of the
Lord, your God, but turn aside from the way I ordain for you today” (Dt
11:26-28)...

Financial Stewardship (Part 5) -
FULFILLING GOD'S LAW |
|
 |
U.A.E., March 01, 2011:
Today’s wisdom from Sirach gives us much input about financial
stewardship. Sirach starts off with citing the law. “To keep the law is
a great oblation, and he who observes the commandments sacrifices a
peace offering.” (Sir 35:1)...

THE STRENGTH TO BE LIGHT TO THE NATIONS |
|
 |
U.A.E., February 27, 2011:
God is about a mighty work in the world today. And we in CFC-FFL are privileged
to be part of His plan. But whatever we have accomplished for the cause of
Christ in these almost 30 years are still “too little,” because God intends to
use us as “a light to the nations, that (His) salvation may reach to the ends of
the earth.” (Is 49:6)...

RESTORATION AS PREPARATION |
|
 |
U.A.E., 2011:
The restoration of CFC, through CFC-FFL, started in
2007. Since that time, God has been preparing a restored
CFC, faithful to its charism and call, to go forth
according to God’s plan and to experience the fullness
of His strength for the work ahead...

THE STRENGTH THAT COMES FROM GOD |
|
 |
U.A.E., January 26, 2011:
The psalmist says this of God: “strength and beauty are
in his sanctuary.” (Ps 96:6b,RSV). He is the Lord who
“made the heavens.” (Ps 96:5b). He is the awesome
Creator, and we are to recognize that “great is the Lord
and highly to be praised, to be feared above all gods.”
(Ps 96:4)...

PROCLAIMING GOD’S STRONG LOVE |
|
 |
U.A.E., January 25, 2011:
Today’s psalm is the shortest hymn in the book of
Psalms. It tells us about the strong and faithful God
who relates to us. “The Lord’s love for us is strong;
the Lord is faithful forever.” (Ps 117:2). It is a
wonderful assurance of the great extent of God’s love,
and how God will work in and through us in order for us
to fully experience that love, until we finally get to
heaven...

A COMPRESSED HISTORY OF CFC IN ISAIAH |
|
 |
U.A.E., 2011: Our theme
for this year, “My God is now my strength!”,
is taken from Isaiah 49:5. As is usually the
case, God has a special message and many
lessons to teach us through our theme for
the year. In looking to what God is saying,
we usually would look at a larger context in
which our theme verse is situated. This time
this larger context is Isaiah 49:1-6...

Our Theme for 2011 (Part 11) -
STRENGTHENING THE BARS OF OUR GATES |
|
 |
U.A.E., January 07, 2011:
Man has grown in unprecedented strength. The scientific advances boggle the
mind--communications technology, medical breakthroughs, space exploration,
nuclear power, etc.
But man’s strength has failed in providing for a better world...

CFC-FFL Community Prayer for 2011
|
|
Almighty and eternal God, Creator of heaven and earth,
great is your name and awesome is your power. By your right hand you
smite the foe, and uphold the life of your people. Father, keep us
always under the mantle of your protection and care.
Jesus our mighty Savior, you have crushed the head of the
serpent, and have overturned the dominion of the enemy over our lives.
Continue to show us the way to true discipleship and holiness of life,
so that we may be fitting instruments of your will.
Spirit of life, you renew the face of the earth, and empower
your people to become witnesses to the ends of the earth. Guide our path
always, helping us endure and persevere, as we bring the good news of
salvation to all.
We praise and thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of the
past three decades. Please continue to form us and to transform us, to
make us the instruments that you desire, to renew the family and to
defend life. May we always be centered on you our Lord Jesus, faithful
to every aspect of our covenant, and ever mindful of the cross you ask
us to carry.
Grant us the grace to fully trust in you and in your great
plan for our lives, and fill us always with joy whatever circumstances
of life we find ourselves in. We belong to you, and we rightly offer our
lives for the furtherance of your Kingdom and the glory of your name.
May you truly be our strength, now and forever more.
Amen.
<This prayer is requested
to be prayed everyday and in every household meeting.> |
